Calculators
Each tool reads from the same dataset as the rest of the site, states the method it used, and shows the date its figures were last verified. Each one works without JavaScript, falling back to the underlying tables.

What every tool here promises
- It shows its working. Each tool carries a method note explaining what it calculated and in what order.
- It shows its limits. Each one lists what it does not model, which is usually more decision-relevant than what it does.
- It is dated. Dataset 2026.09.1, figures verified 12 September 2026.
- It degrades. If JavaScript fails, the underlying table is still there. We hide the fallback only once we know scripting works.
- It keeps your data. Calculations run in your browser. Where state is shareable it goes in the page address, and we say so, because a link you send someone carries those dates with it.
Tools we have not built yet
A trip tax estimator is specified but not built. It would depend entirely on the Climate Crisis Resilience Fee rates, every one of which we have marked as needing verification against AADE guidance — so it would ship as a draft even if it existed today. The rates themselves are published on the visitor costs page, with worked examples.
